Post 2015 Subaru WRX & STI Meet At The Dyno

Subaru WRX and STI meet at the dyno with interesting results: "…the WRX consistently puts out more of its torque earlier than the STI and achieves full boost almost three seconds quicker."

Somebody else posted a comparison and the only place the wrx was faster was the 5-60mph by .1 second. The STi was faster everywhere else.

Speed comparos are tricky since there is the driver factor. I think dyno runs evens out the playing field since the numbers don't lie. Mostly. I just can't get over the fact that Subaru chose to equip the WRX a twin scroll while leaving it's halo car with the same-o.

Agreed, but i think they chose the wrx as the test monkey for all the new changes and left the sti alone for now.
The real test will be to put them on a road course, dyno numbers dont mean shit.

STI chassis is amazing from what I've heard.

the reason they did that is, The FA motor has the metal timing chain covers, and can stand the heat from the turbo being mounted 3" from them in the center front, and they just happen to have the piping and manifolds, and turbos already in the works (EE20, and the 2010+ Legacy GT among other engines with this same turbo placement).

The STI is the EJ257 motor still, which means Plastic timing chain covers, and lack of space where the FA motor turbos are mounted. therefore... issues. So they stick with what's been proven to work.
