    Backup Lights

    Hey Guys,

So I just recently noticed that when I am reversing my back-up lights don't turn on.

It isn't all the time, and sometimes if they are not on if I take it out of reverse and put it back into reverse they will turn on.

Then at other times I will wiggle the stick shift and and they will turn on if they are off and sometimes they will turn off when they are on, and other times, it won't do anything.

I haven't done any poking around cause I am not exactly sure what to look for or where to look. But is there something under my console (like wires or something) that lead to the stick shift telling it that it is in reverse?

Any suggestions or guidance is much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Yep. Sounds like the switch is going bad. Easily replaced.

Ahh that makes sense. And it does look pretty simple to replace, which is a relief.

This is what I found on NASIOC just incase anyone else comes across this.

I do not have one to measure yet
    round type connector
normal position = open switch “OL”
depressed position (reverse) = closed switch “Ω”
*Normally Open (N.O.) verified with DMM"
