    Transmission Fluid Leaking

I have a 1996 Subaru Legacy LS 210k miles automatic
I have red fluid leaking from where the transmission connects to the engine
Not sure if I need the torque converter replaced and the seal?
Also if someone can recommend a place to have it done that is Subie Friendly would be great
    Thanks

I'm not terribly familiar with automatics, but I would reach out to Kyle @ AAMCO on Valley View and Desert Inn.

I took it there and he said I should throw my car in the dumpster because it is leaking from everywhere. He also proceeded to tell me that Subaru is a crap car and I should get a Toyota Camry. Not what I expected at all

Why would you doubt that. Kyle said he doesn't drive a Subaru anymore. I know there weer issues with the car. I was just going there to get an estimate of fixing the trans issue, which is the one thing I was not capable of fixing myself.

Yeah Kyle hasn't been in a Subaru for years. Odd that he would say that, though. I know he still likes Subarus.

Regardless, from the story here it doesn't sound like you're going to do business with AAMCO. Other than him, I don't know who to refer you to. My aunt and uncle use a transmission shop off Boulder but I don't know the name of it, and they swear by him. If I get a name I'll put it here, but from the sounds of it you may want to just pick one from yelp. Nobody I know in Flat 4 rebuilds transmissions, other than Kyle's shop.

I would go there if I needed to but I have done some more research and do not think I have as big an issue as once thought. I was surprised to say the least. I like to stay loyal to places and people that get recommended and is they do a good job I toot the horn about it.
